About the Datil Pepper
The Datil is a Capsicum chinense heirloom variety prized for its sweet, fruity, and tangy flavor paired with noticeable heat. Often compared to habaneros in heat level, Datil peppers are generally sweeter and less smoky, making them ideal for hot sauces and marinades.
Plants remain relatively compact, typically growing up to 3 feet tall, and produce an abundance of 3-inch peppers that ripen from green to yellow and finally to a bright orange at full maturity.
